Today I am going to tell you about aggressiveness of Tanzanian bees’. As mentioned before, it is one of our purposes of survey to see how less agressive Tanzanian bees get. The character of bees’ gives us difficulty on beekeeping, compared to beekeeping other countries including Japan. It is inevitable to get bees less fierce. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a plenty of difficulty with savage bees. Let me give you a couple of examples. First of all, you will get stung easily. When it comes to clothes, in Japan we put on something thick with long sleeves and a pair of long trousers, a mesh face cover and rubber gloves. Wearing this unit of clothes, the project chief got over 100 bee stings when he met Tanzanian bees for the first time. He seemed to absolutely underestimate Tanzanian bees. (Click here to see what happened on him.<\/a>) It is likely that Tanzanian bees come toward us as if any bee would seek for any room to sting or smuggle in to give an attack. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is another issue ; it is highly impossible to observe inside box accurately. If bees get out from boxes such as the picture below, we are unable to observe quickly. We must see the actual situation in the box. i.g. whether bees are being infected or not, the queen been is healthy or not. Failing to comprehend the situation accurately brings about the collapse of the hive. For instance, disease or absence of a queen bee causes the decreasing number of population and finally comes to end. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is for us a milestone to get bees less aggressive. We have made a progress to our ideal beekeeping in Tanzania. Spent time to observe inside one hive and apply appropriate treatment is possibly shorten and one beekeeper possibly holds more hives. It is easier to observe inside hives and notice any problems so that it is avoidable to collapse a group of hive boxes. As a result it is possible to increase the number of harvest of honey and, at the same time, lower the price, In a word, this is how you get Tanzanian honey at the affordable price, while beekeepers in Tanzania earn more income. We are very looking forward to the day when you find our honey on your supermarket shelf! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
