今日も前回に引き続き案件化調査結果についてお伝えします。今日は、案件化調査にて採取したはちみつについてお伝えします。

前回お伝えしたように、案件化調査ではタンザニアに養蜂器具を持ち込み、現地の気候など養蜂条件と合致するか確認を行いました。(詳しくはこちらから) そして、実際にはちみつを収穫するところまで行いました。収穫したはちみつは、従来のタンザニア産はちみつよりもずっと色が薄く、癖の少ない味でした。はちみつの色や味は、蜜源(咲いている花)に依ります。養蜂の仕方や採蜜方法が改善されても色や味の改善には限界があります。その為、タンザニアの真っ黒のはちみつがどこまで明るい色になるのか、またどこまで癖の少ない味になるのか、プロジェクトメンバーは少しハラハラドキドキしていました。

このような透き通った色・味のはちみつであれば、日本の方々にも自信を持っておすすめできると思っています。試験的に採取したはちみつなのでまだ販売することはできませんが、1日も早く皆さんのお手元に届けられたらと思います。

Result from SDGs Business Model Formulation Survey 4-2

Today I am going to tell you about a part of result following last time. Today’s topic is about honey we harvested though the survey.

As mentioned last time, in the survey we observed whether our tools adjust Tanzanian conditions with bringing units of beekeeping tools. (Click here for more details) Then, we actually harvested honey as well. The harvested honey is much lighter in color and taste than prevailing one in Tanzania. The taste and color depend on nectar source, blooming flowers around hives. We have been aware of the limit of lighter honey in color and taste even if manners of beekeeping and extraction is sifted. We were so anxious how much lighter the honey would get.

We are confident that there is a great demand for such lighter honey in other countries including Japan and western countries. These honey has not yet been on sale due to a small size harvested as tests. We really would like you to taste Tanzanian honey soon.

The answer for the question is “C. Littleneck” Honey in Swahili is Asali, with which Japanese usually imagine littleneck, cram. Thank you for reading today. Bye for now. See you.
