タンザニアにおける養蜂

　今回はタンザニアにおける養蜂についてご紹介します。タンザニアは年間約30,000トンを生産し、アフリカで２番目のはちみつ生産量を誇っています。それでも実際の収穫量は、気候や花の蜜源などから考慮したポテンシャルよりも格段に少ないと言われています。

　長年に渡ってタンザニアの養蜂は、年配の養蜂家が伝統的な養蜂器具や製造器具を用いて行っていました。最近では、若者や女性が大半を占めるグループが目立つようになってきました。そうしたグループでは、従来とは違った養蜂器具が用いられています。

　日新蜂蜜は、タンザニアにてより効率的な養蜂技術の普及に取り組み、タンザニアのはちみつ生産量の向上を目標にしています。このプロジェクトを通して、日本やタンザニア、その他の国のみなさんに笑顔と美味しいはちみつを届け、そしてタンザニアの養蜂家さんの収益にもつながる、そんな仕組みづくりを行っています。

Beekeeping in Tanzania

 This time let me tell you about beekeeping in Tanzania. Tanzania is a second largest honey producer in Africa, producing only approximately 30,000 tons per annum. It is said that the scale of harvest is far less than its potential given by climate, flower resources e.t.c.  

For many years beekeeping in Tanzania has only been practiced by the elderly persons using traditional means of production and processing. Now we are seeing a change in the trend, where youth and woman account for the majority groups that do beekeeping activities and involve the use of modern equipment’s.

We Nisshin Honey are trying to spread a series of more efficient manner of beekeeping in Tanzania, which we hope leads the higher number of the produce in Tanzania. Along our project, we are building such a structure to provide our customers in Japan, Tanzania and other countries with smile and tasty Tanzanian Honey, and to generate beekeepers’ profit.
